There is a lot of stuff in the news (if you are in UK) about asylum seekers making their way across the English channel in small boats, their goal being the gold paved streets of Britain (NOT). And they are currently being intercepted by the UK Border Force, who don't have the ability to send them back, but can make sure that they arrive safely at the land. It just so happens that relatively recently BP shelved their idea of having some sort of special recovery service offshore replacing standby boats and after spending a fortune on very substantial recovery craft put them up for sale. There were eight of them and they were purchased by the UK Border Force. What luck. I assume that these craft are being used. Here is Iain of the Clyde in 2007.
