Here is the Ocean Nomad alongside in Invergordon. It is a typical representative of the type of semi-submersible built in the early days of work in the North Sea and modified over the years mainly in order to increase the deck load. This is the reason for the additional corner columns, and probably although we can't see them there are blisters on the pontoons. The rig was briefly in the news back at the beginning of last year, when a heavy lift ship arrived in the Cromarty Firth in order to take it to the breakers, but permission was not immediately forthcoming because of the possibility of the possible destination being a breaker's beach.

Photo taken in 2003 when the rig was still operational and posted here on 7th March 2019.
