I occasionally feature a Boston Putford ship, in this case the Putford Protector, which was once the Star Capella. I was its first master back in 1983 when it was delivered from Fergusons on the Clyde. Actually not a bad ship, although the build quality was not quite up to the mark. There were many loose flanges in the pipework, sometimes causing unwanted flooding, and problems with the controls due to spiking of the electronics. They were exciting times. Oh - and Boston Putford has just been sold to North Star.
