Here is the Wilson Sons Tagaz in Guanabara Bay, to the north of Rio de Janeir. This is a modern platform ship, but more interesting is the stuff leaning against the quay in the background. These apparently derelict ships include the Skandi Niteroi and the Skandi Vitoria, two ships built and equipped for laying subsea pipelines and possibly the most expensive vessels in the offshore portfolio. Also in the background the UP Jade and the Sudaksha. There are many other semi-derelict ships in the same area, being allowed to rot, one assumes because it would be more expensive to take them away.
