This design follows the existing idea which Damen has developed for the "Axe" bow, which was their version of the wave piercing bow, as an alternative to the Ulstein XBow. Both of these being made available to the offshore business by the technique of putting the accommodation on the bow, hence protecting the cargo deck, and the enhanced means today of keeping one's ship watertight. So far - in 2016 - six of these ships have been built and the company World Wide Supply has filed for bankruptcy.
