Support for offshore structures vary in different parts of the world, the UK regulations requiring a ERRV or standby vessel, capable of recovering survivors of a disaster from the sea. This is one, the Putford Acasta, now long gone, since it was sold to Saudi company Al Mojil years ago. I have been prompted to post it due to a question about the El Faro someone asking whether an assigned loadline could still result in an unsafe vessel. So what do you think of this one?
