The MT6000 was the first vessel to appear from the Marin Teknikk design house, and at the time it caused quite a stir. It had an extremely large deck area and had azimuthing thrusters aft, a feature now common on all platform ships, but then quite rare. When the vessel features here first appeared it was immediately hired by TOTAL, and remained working for them for many years.
