Here is the Transocean semi-submersible Sedco 704 under tow by an unnamed Viking anchor-handler. I thought it was the Vidar Viking but the set-up at the stern does not really substantiate that assumption. But it was a nice day and the rig is up on the pontoons, and this is probably in the North Sea. Featured in the photo, and not ofter seen is the construction of the afterdeck, showing the wooden planking and the steel apron on which the anchors are landed. It is common practice to pull the anchors off the steel onto the wood, at which time they will stop sliding all over the place. 

Also just in the photo is the gob wire. Some are just shackled to a point on the deck, which would limit the movement of the tow wire and others are connected to the wire wire which would allow the crew of vary the extent of the limitation, mostly in order for the ship to be allowed to turn.

The photo was taken in 2002, apparently, although the ship looks like the Odin Viking with was built in 2003, the photographer unknown and posted here on 25th May 2017.
