When the VS469 Viking Queen made its entry into Aberdeen in 1984 everyone looked on in amazement. It seemed to be enormous, although a quick view of the spec will show that it was actually quite moderately sized by today's standards. Although of considerable size, making it useful even today - if the oil price had not hit rock bottom (2016) - and of reasonable power sourced by four Wichmanns, which was quite common in those days, it had quite a small winch. The photographs which were taken in Bergen in 2007 indicate that maybe this shortcoming had been rectified by then.
