The accommodation semi-submersible Floatel Triumph alongside in Singapore. I have chosen to post this due to the recent discussions about root causes of accidents. If you look at the details of this unit you will see that it has 1000 m2 of open deck to facilitate construction work, and you will see that the cranes are on the aft corners and that in operation any platform would be directly astern. Amidships on the starboard side is a large lifeboat embarkation station sticking out. You will also note that the fairleads for the mooring system are at the waterline. So, a question, if the unit was moored do we think that a large supply vessel would be able to work on the starboard side.
