The high specification ERRV Grampian Frontier, entering Aberdeen back in the early part of 2015. This is an important member of the North Star fleet, a company mainly providing ERRVs (formerly known as standby vessels) to the North Sea oil industry. They were one of the first companies to become involved in this sector of the industry, operating a fishing fleet in the early days and therefore able to offer old trawlers to fulfil the task. It has been suggested to me that I should write a history of the standby boat, but some already exist, particularly the Boston Putford Story by Malcolm R White and Time & Tide the story of the Craig Group, by Jeremy Cresswell.
