The Brazilians have always been at the forefront of the development and operation of offshore structures, some might suggest due to the fact that they have been less hampered by regulations. This is just a bit born out by the various misfortunes that have occurred to their floating production systems, but here is one which I think is still out there doing its stuff. Like most of these platforms and floating production systems they are primitive things, with a whole lot of traditional refining equipment stuck on top of the jacket or the hull. But still pretty impressive, particularly when in harbour.
