Here is the Siem Emerald engaging in a rig shift in the UK sector of the North Sea in 2010, when it was almost new. It is one of a class of eight ships all ordered at once by Siem when things were looking wonderful for the oil industry. It is still out there today, now in Brazil. It and the sisters were built in Norway and are VS 491s. Some details include accommodation for 80 people, a maximum speed of 18 knots with a fuel consumption at that speed of 72 tpd. The collective horsepower of all the engines is 27,000 going a bollard pull of 285t.
