I am prompted to include a photo on the site of the controls of the old UT722 Far Fosna, because of a discussion on gCaptain about manual control of the Bibby Topaz (the ship of which the film "The Last Breath" was made). It was thought that it would be difficult because people only have two hands. So how many hands would be required to operate these controls which are - from left to right: starboard, both and port rudder controls, starboard and port rudder controls, an azimuthing thruster control, the forward tunnel thruster control, the after tunnel thruster control, a joystick control, the tannoy microphone, the joystick/DP1 control, the VHF handset, a keyboard for the pumping system, the port and starboard main engine controls, some telephones. And in the background a number of screens to help with the task.
