The drill ship Petrosaudi Discoverer featured on my old website some years ago, but I decided to give it another outing today. However, when I googled it for information I found that it had possibly been involved in a scam, set up between the owners, who claimed that it was "state of the art" which might just have been true in 1977, and representatives of the Venezuelan national oil company. It and a sister unit only a bit newer had been hired out ant an exorbitant sum, the whole contract having become the subject of a court case, actually if I read it right, the owners claiming unpaid dues. This very picture was used to illustrate the article.
